Misty Palace

 Misty Palace...🧊

 Beyond the mist, there is a palace which is not in use for a longer time. But the palace has a treasure which many people want to make it of their own. Once someone enters there, they never returned.

 Long ago, there lived a witch princess named, Misty. This princess mastered herself in witches art. She used her spell to get what she wanted. One day, she saw a handsome sage while she was plucking flowers. It was love at first sight. She approached the sage and expressed her willingness to marry him. Sage politely refused her saying, he has broken all the earthly bonds and he is on the way to Himalayas to continue tapas. She gets infuriated and spell on him to become a parrot so that she could cage him and keep it with her all the time.  As she spelled, Sage transformed to parrot. Sage was saddened by his fate and his inability to reach Himalayas. As the day went, Princess was not ready to release the parrot and parrot reached his final days by starving. He wished his final days to be in Himalayas. Since he could not go, the Himalayas itself came down to the palace and filled the palace with mist and snow. Princess tired her all spells, but nothing worked against the dense mist and snow. slowly she remained there as she could not come back and become an ice statue in that place.  From that time irrespective of season, the palace was filled by mist.  But that palace had a treasure that princess saved and kept under the secret locker. The worth of the treasure is more than a billion.

There is a rumor that, whoever goes in becomes ice statue.

Shivani heard this story from her father and lost her father for the same reason. Now, Shivani wants figure out the misty palace secret.

“Ayan, we need to go there. Do you even listen? “, Shivani Shouted at Ayan. Ayan, slowly looked up to her” Yes, sweetheart. we are going there. Do not worry. But did you consider the threat behind the treasure? We may not even return.” Shivani, after a deep sigh, and says, “we are in 3000 year. We are much equipped. We have technology that could change any weather. We should be able to get this. I want to give a try instead of regretting for not trying. “

Shivani also add, “I got all the details what we need to do once we reach there. Listen carefully! I remember my father telling that, there is a spell that we need to say by keeping our hand against princess hand.  So first, we need to find the spell that would break the ice. The spell is in the library. So, first you go to the library and read the spell loudly and I will repeat the spell by keeping my hand against the princess”.  Ayan, approves the plan and they start travelling towards the misty palace.

The mist so dense that could not see anything from few miles. Shivani and Ayan does not give up and they drive inside it and reach the palace entrance. Slowly they start shivering as the chillness is fetching through their thick jacket. They walk towards inside the palace shivering and reaches the palace hall and they see the princess in ice statue. Even though, it is quite scary, she is beautiful. It looks as though Princess is still alive. Her eyes are wide open. Her hand stretched out as though she was trying to catch something. Ayan, says, “how could sage say “no” to this beautiful lady.  Shivani looks at him, says “Is it even needs now, rush towards to the library before we turn to statue.. “.. Ayan says, “Yes, Madam! At your service”. He rushes towards to the library following the sign board.

Shivani slowly stretches her hand and holds against the princess. On the library, Ayan founds so many ice statues. He gets shocked and he sees the glittering gold letters from one book. Ayan starts to read it aloud so that Shivani can hear and repeat it after him. But slowly, he was transforming into statue. The spell was “I will set you free once you allow yourself to become mine…”  Shivani repeats by keeping her hand against statue.

Slowly the princess gets alive once again and Shivani become statue and princess says to Shivani, the spell is to release me not to melt the ice. The mist and ice will break once sage reaches Himalayas… Princess smile. 😊

Kanni Maadam- Book Review.. First of all, writing the pure Tamizh names to echo the same is really tough.. However here is my take.. I must appreciate the writer for writing it so lengthy. Even though in few places the description of the situation is dragging, but is not failing to impress neither it is hurts the story line.. The storyline, takes back to the world of king and war! Before dying, he sought help from Illangarapuran to fight with Kulasekaran. Illllangarapuran defeated Kulasekara Pandyan and made Veerapandiyan as king i.e Parakirama Pandya’s son.
